Two of the things we are most passionate about at Sampling International are product sampling and minimising waste.
With almost 50 years of manufacturing expertise, and with many of our staff having been with us for in excess of 20 years, we really are the ideal and most experienced industry partner for your sample production.
We recognise that high-quality sampling is essential for selling your premium products, but that its cost must also be realistic. Furthermore, we understand that the cost of the fabric, wallpaper, or flooring used in your sampling is often a far bigger consideration than the actual cost of manufacturing the sampling.
By minimising waste and giving experienced advice around product size, we can help.
Sampling Considerations
Your first consideration should always be size – what is the optimum sample size that you need to use in order to best showcase your product? This would normally be driven by two things – the width of the roll and the size of the pattern repeat/design.
Your next cost consideration should be around lean production – and this is where we can help you. Producing swatch books is more cost-effective when all internal pattern samples are the same size; this gives manufacturing efficiencies that help keep the costs low – but we know that some designs do not warrant a ‘full size’ pattern – so let us help you find the balance between product cost and manufacturing cost.
Fabric finishing – there are options when it comes to fabric finishing – pinked/gimped and labelled, strip taped along the bottom edge, fully framed, overlocked. Each one attracts its own cost, and we are always happy to run treatment trials for you to help you find the most cost effective way of treating your fabrics, while also preventing them from fraying and giving them the most longevity in the market place.
Print – we have many different printing solutions that we are able to offer – litho, digital and screen, in one colour, special pantone colours and in full four colour process. We can work with you to find the most economical print process for your project from our range of manufacturing possibilities.
Volume – one question we are asked more frequently than others is ‘how does quantity affect the unit cost’. The answer is significantly. Our products, whether they are books, shade cards, swatches or folders, are each crafted by hand using a range of machinery. One product can have in excess of a dozen different processes required.
