Sustainability
We love the world we live in but it’s far from perfect, so we all need to do our bit to make it a greener, better place.
Emissions reduction targets
To continue our progress for achieving Net Zero Carbon Emissions prior to the Government’s target of 2050, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
Committed to a Net Zero Carbon Target by 2035 (Scope 1 and 2)
Committed to a Net Zero Carbon Target by 2040 (Scope 3)
- Reduce fossil fuel use
- Procure green energy
- Reduce, reuse and recycle waste

How we will protect the planet
Reduce and ultimately eliminate all fossil fuels from our operations by 2035
Invest in energy efficiency and adopt natural renewable sources for electricity.
Eliminate waste from landfill and implement a circular economy approach
Reduce water usage, improve wastewater quality and protect our ecosystems
Measure, report & influence our supply chain to align with the points above.
Energy Management
Our factory has been benchmarked and audited by our Energy Consultants. All energy optimisation measures have been implemented as well as capital investment projects to reduce energy consumption. This has identified an annual carbon saving of over 80 tonnes.
Saving 11 tCO2
That’s equivalent to driving a diesel car 1.5 times around the worldEnergy efficiency
We have invested in energy efficiency and replaced the factory lighting system with modern LED lights and new lighting controls.
LED lights consume significantly less energy than fluorescent lights and this will save around an incredible 50,000 kWh of energy per year and reduce our carbon impact by 11 Tonnes per year.

The original oil-fired factory heating system has been upgraded to operate on LPG. Combined with the replacement roller-shutter door, this will not only improve thermal efficiency, but will reduce our carbon emissions by 27%, saving around 69 tonnes of carbon per year.

Sampling International is committed to creating a circular economy. All excess material is kept and repurposed until it is no longer viable.
We have increased recycling rates and all other waste is diverted from landfill to produce energy
We are proud to support and to be a member of CRUK
Water efficiency
We have taken steps to reduce water consumption in our operations to ensure our wastewater has no contaminants that can affect our ecosystems.
We have invested in a screen waste filtration for the separation of light and heavy solids out of the waste water from screen developing and reclaiming. The system uses filtration materials and drastically reduces acidity, COD (chemical oxygen demand) and high solid stencil emulsion sludge.
Sustainable to Procurement
We are working with our suppliers to sustainably source materials and assist and influence carbon reduction throughout the value chain
